For the second instalment of Build Your Network, our series of discussions with women in our network about the misconceptions of the building industry, we talked to Brooke Smith, the Founder and CEO of Lucid Vue. While many companies came to a halt at the start of 2020, forced to adapt to meet the changing world around them, the team behind Lucid Vue were already two steps ahead.  Founded in 2018 and specialising in immersive 3D imaging, virtual reality display suites, and virtual tours to clients in the off-the-plan development space, Lucid Vue taps into the world of immersive gaming technology to reimagine how real estate can be marketed to potential buyers. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Lucid Vue on a virtual tour of our Cayenne 29 and as a disrupter to traditional marketing methods, their visualisation solutions are not only cost and time-effective for clients, but they also provide an engaging experience for users.    Positioned at the cross-section of gaming and property development, Brooke describes navigating the PropTech industry as an “uphill battle for anyone” but that barriers are slowly being broken down. “I am proud to say that progress has been made recently in promoting diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry and supporting women's leadership in the field," Brooke says. “As a part of this movement, I feel empowered to push forward, break down barriers, and make my mark on the industry.” Aside from determination and resilience, building a solid network and investing in team members has been key to Lucid Vue’s growth and success. On an individual level, Brooke points to two key mentors - one in Australia and the other in the United States - who have provided invaluable guidance in the growth of Lucid Vue; as well as being a part of a close Mastermind mentor group, which she describes as a valuable resource for peer feedback and support. More widely, a huge focus of Lucid Vue has been connecting with organisations who are driven by a similar vision and values.  “We have built partnerships with industry associations, real estate developers, and marketing agencies to expand our reach and gain insights into the latest industry trends and best practices... Ultimately, our success in disrupting the industry comes down to our ability to remain adaptable and agile.” Outside of the property industry, the team at Lucid Vue feels strongly about giving back to their own network and supporting local organisations that are positively impacting the community. In partnership with the Old Colonists' Association of Victoria, they have offered their visualisation technology to residents with dementia, giving them the opportunity to explore virtual realities. Partnerships like these provide valuable insights into the management of dementia symptoms and demonstrate how their technology can be utilised outside of the property sector.  Watch Lucid Vue's virtual tour of our Cayenne 29: https://lnkd.in/gbf76qXB
